The IEEE 16th Multi-Conference on Signals Systems and Devices was held in Sutluce!

The IEEE 16th Multi-Conference on Signals Systems and Devices ( SSD’19 ) was hosted by Istanbul Commerce University and Tapir Lab. at Sütlüce, Istanbul, Turkey from 21st to 24th of March, 2019. During the conference 4 plenary sessions, 4 keynote lectures and 28 oral sessions was held.

SSD’19 multi-conference is organized to include 4 conferences covering different fundamental and applied aspects:

  1. “Int. Conf. on Systems, Automation & Control” (SAC)
  2. “Int. Conf. on Conference on Power Systems & Smart Energies” (PSE)
  3. “Int. Conf. on Communication, Signal Processing & Information Technology” (CSP)
  4. “Int. Conf. on Sensors, Circuits and Instrumentation Systems” (SCI)

SSD’19 secretariat has received 249 submissions from 28 countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, P.R. China, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA. Each paper has been reviewed by at least two reviewers of the program committee which consisted of more than 100 scientists from more than 30 countries. Only 144 papers have been accepted.

SSD’19 was the largest conferece hosted by Istanbul Commerce University and organized by Tapir Lab. Specialists from different countries gathered together to discuss and present novalities in the field of signals, systems and devices. Also, SSD’19 provided the possibility of meeting with engineers and scientist to the students of Istanbul Commerce University.

Tapir Lab. took active part in various ways in SSD’19 including transportation, accommodation, organization handling, logistics, and gala dinner. SSD’19 has been a great success for Tapir Lab. as well!

Sezer Can Tokgöz, a former Tapir Lab. member in EE Department at Istanbul Commerce University (ICU), has been accepted into Ph.D. program with full-scholarship in EE Department at Texas A&M University at College Station, TX. Sezer Can Tokgöz, as being both EE undergraduate and graduate level student at ICU, will be pursuing his Ph.D. studies along with Scott Miller and Khalid Qaraqe who are the two prominent researchers in the field of wireless communications and statistical signal processing. EE Department would like to congratulate him and Tapir Lab. and appreciate the effort he put in on the projects carried out in both EE Department and Tapir Lab. during his time in here!

Istanbul Development Agency granted Tapir Lab.

Tapir Lab. have been granted by Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA in Turkish) under the financial support for “Innovative and Creative Istanbul” chapter with the project entitled “Istanbul Digital Forensic Laboratory.”

Under the supervision of Rector’s Office at Istanbul Commerce University, Tapir Lab. will be the lead and coordinator of the project whose partnership includes:

  • Governorship Of Istanbul
  • Istanbul Chamber Of Commerce
  • Turkish Informatics Industry Association
  • International Cybersecurity Federation

along with the main technical participant, Volfram Information Technologies Trade. Co. Ltd.

First milestone for Kaşif!

Tapir Lab. successfully passed the first progress period of “Kaşif,” funded by The Undersecretariat for Defence Industries. Tapir Lab. exhibited a prototype operating in real-time in a real tactical field on July 31st, 2018. The prototype developed demonstrated a great real world field performance. Next stage of the project has already begun and prototype is being accessorized with extra features.
