TapirCast v7.0 is ON AIR!

We’re happy to announce the latest version of TapirCast version 7.0! In this release, we’ve incorporated new developments into our codebase, allowing animations to appear on the video by initially shrinking frames to different positions. After a certain period, these frames gradually enlarge, returning to the center.

Tapir Lab. – Seminar by Dr. Zahit Evren Kaya

Istanbul, May 30th, 2024 – Dr. Zahit Evren Kaya, a Systems Design and Architecture Engineer in Analog Devices, delivered a seminar entitled “Overview of FPGA/SoC-Based Solutions in Instrumentation Systems”. In the seminar, Dr. Kaya began by sharing his experiences with projects in various fields, including the defense industry. Following this, Dr. Kaya introduced FPGA technology and explained the concept of SoC (System on Chip) by detailing the integration of all components of a computer or other electronic system into a single chip. The seminar was hosted by CARIT and sponsored by Tapir Lab and ISTEC Cyber Security.

Tapir Lab. – Dr. Sezer Tokgöz’s talk about his career journey

Istanbul, May 27th, 2024 – Dr. Sezer Tokgöz, Senior Engineer, Wireless R&D in Qualcomm Technologies Inc., delivered a talk about his career journey from Tapir Lab. to the Bay Area.  In the event,  participants had the opportunity to hear firsthand how Dr. Tokgöz progressed in both academia and industry, the challenges he faced, and the successes he achieved during his B.S., M.Sc. and Ph.D. Dr. Tokgöz provided an inspiring and informative perspective on career development. TapirCast v6.0 is ON AIR!

We’re happy to announce the latest version of TapirCast version 6.0! In this release, the microphone in TapirCast videos can rotate on its axis and move toward the current speaker, following the shortest path from the previous speaker’s direction, all within one second after the current speaker begins to speak.

TapirCast v5.0 is ON AIR!

We’re happy to announce the latest version of TapirCast version 5.0! In this release, a model was created with differential equations for the trajectories of Tapir’s leg and foot components (with ears and tail also synchronized) to match the dynamics of the gait cycle, following the advancing time indicator found on YouTube. This enabled Tapir to create a realistic walking impression.

IEEE Türkiye Chair, Dr. Nizamettin Aydın, Assumes His Inaugural Keynote at Istanbul Commerce University

Istanbul, April 26th, 2024 – Dr. Nizamettin Aydın, Elected Chair of IEEE Türkiye for 2024-2025, delivered his inaugural keynote address at Istanbul Commerce University’s Kucukyali Campus, hosted by the Center for Applied Research and Information Technologies. Dr. Aydın commenced his talk with a comprehensive overview of the IEEE organization and its multifaceted contributions to the field. In the second part of his talk, Dr. Aydın provided underlying concepts and key points in biomedical signal processing, elucidating fundamental techniques and methodologies crucial to the predictive analysis of strokes through quadratic signals.
